What to do? Where do you turn for reliable information you can trust at such a critical time in the life of the family. Maryann Porosky recognized that need early on in her career. Based on her own experiences dealing with the pain of aging family members, she founded Caring Choices 25 years ago to help the elderly, the disabled and their families who were at a loss and seeking answers.
Maryann is the director and founder of Caring Choices. Since the formation of Caring Choices, health care has become ever more difficult to navigate. “When needs change, decisions must be made all too quickly and emotions run high.”
Maryann has put together a dedicated professional team with a wealth of experience to guide families through this time. They are focused on helping you determine the right care while best conserving assets. Most importantly, a plan is put together to guide you through the present short term crisis with long term solutions for peace of mind – for the older adult and for the family. It’s been Maryann’s life work to respond quickly as needs vary and change because she knows the value of being there for families when they need her.
She’s learned that most people don’t plan to fail. They fail to plan and as a result, they are often left with regret.
With a graduate degree in Social Work from Fordham University, she was director of a homebound program for the elderly and director of social work services for a 550 bed nursing home. She was president of the NJ Chapter of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and received their Outstanding Member of the Year award. She also served as President of Summit Business and Professional Women. She is a member of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.
“What impressed us about Maryann is how much she understood and how much she cared about us. Caring Choices invest their energy and expertise in offering clear choices, Caring Choices at a time when we needed it the most.” ~ Past Client
